Zero to Hero
Zero to Hero is a new initiative by Redway Runners, aiming to help novice runners become marathon runners. Around thirty”zeros” signed up and have been matched with experienced mentors who will guide them through the training programme. The goal is to run the Milton Keynes Marathon is May 2016, which various milestones along the way (5k, 10k, half marathon and 20 miles races).
This blog details the experiences of those on the programme, telling the stories of zeros becoming heroes.
In 2010 a small group of running friends in Milton Keynes decided to establish a club and invite others to join them. Despite early fears that nobody else would join, today the club has around 700 members and is growing all the time. The cost of membership is low but the benefits are high, with numerous club runs each week catering for various levels of fitness and endurance.
